A picture from my last days in Germany, before coming back to London. The lines of this old staircase were really appealing to me. I went for b&w because I think it added to the mood of the scene, bringing more emphasis to the shapes and getting rid of color distractions.
During the last years prior to going digital I was shooting almost exclusively black and white film. For some reason, I have done it so much lately, so it was fun trying it for a little bit.
This picture was taken right after the big snow in London last Christmas, when the airports got closed and almost everyone tried to stay at home. I went for a walk from home to the almost empty Canary Wharf, it was wonderfully refreshing seeing all the normally crowded places completely empty. Somehow the black and white fitted well the mood of the day. Enjoy!
